Special variants of Pokémon are the unique species that can not be found easily in the regular gameplay and are not listed in the latest Pokedex. On adding all these variants to the pokedex, the total count may go up to 1500 distinct species. 

  • Legendary Pokémon: The most formidable unique creatures that are often the main line of the local lore, such as lake guardians. Examples: Alolan Dratini rumors, Galarian Meowth, Paldean Wooper.
