slowbro
Apr 10, 2025 Reading time : 30 min

Slowbro is a dual-type Water and Psychic Pokémon that evolved from Slowpoke at level 37. It was introduced in Generation I and is one of the final forms of Slowpoke. It can further evolve into Mega Slowbro with the help of Slowbronite.

Slowbro Pokémon

This bipedal, pink Pokémon has a tan, striped belly and a rounded, tan muzzle with vacant eyes, curled ears, and two pointed teeth. A Shellder is also attached to its tail, having a gray, spiral shell.

To get comprehensive information about the Pokémon, its evolutionary forms, base data, game locations, effectiveness, sprites, appearances, and others, continue reading this extensive guide.

Origin of Slowbro

The word Slowbro is a combination of slow and bro (abbreviation for brother). On the other side, Yadoran is taken from the name of a famous Yugoslavian singer-songwriter, Jadranka Stojaković, which means, (‘wouldn’t you reside?’).

Further, if we talk about the unique appearance of the Pokémon, it is believed that hippopotamuses, giant otters, giant salamanders, or mythical sazae-oni, a sea demon of Japanese folklore, are the source of it. The Galarian form might be inspired by cone snails. The Pokémon’s shell and lifestyle are based on hermit crabs, and its connection with Shellder is derived from leeches.

Slowbro Forms

The Pokémon has two forms: Galarian form and Mega Evolve. They are described in detail further:

Mega Slowbro

Mega Slowbro

In this form, Slowbro is inscribed in the Shellder so that its head, tail, and arms are visible. The head is encompassed by the Shellder’s enlarged teeth. Mega Slowbro balances on its tail and bounces with its help to move. The Pokémon’s energy is stored in the Shellder which has increased its hardness.

Galarian Slowbro

GalarianSlowbro

In Galar form, the Pokémon’s arm is bitten by the Shellder instead of the tail. This causes a chemical reaction between the Shellder’s poison and the consumed Galarica spices within the Slowpoke’s body. It has a pink appearance with purple accents on its head, arms, and tail.

Galarian Slowbro is a highly dangerous species in the game as it can’t differentiate its surroundings while attacking the opponent. The Pokémon attacks by firing the poisonous liquids from the Shellder’s tongue.

Do You Know?

Galarian Slowbro is the only known Pokémon able to learn the moves Shell Side Arm and Quick Draw.

Evolution of Slowbro

One of the members of the latest addition from Paldea Pokedex, Slowbro Pokémon evolved from the Slowpoke and is one of its final forms, along with Slowking. Similarly, Galarian Slowbro evolved from Galarian Slowpoke, and it is also one of its final forms, along with Galarian Slowking. For better clarification, refer to the chart presented below:
