Flying Type Strengths

Different categories of flying type Pokémon have certain strengths. They are immune to the effects of the moves Spikes, Sticky Web, Rototiller, Electric Terrain, Misty Terrain, Toxic Spikes, Grassy Terrain, and Psychic Terrain. If we talk about the categories, they are powerful to the following:

• Fighting: As the flying-type are at the high ground, this gives them an advantage over fighting Pokémon. These Pokémon include Mankey, Machop, Hitmonlee, Lucario, and others. 
• Bug: The birds are bigger than bugs, and they can eat them easily; that’s why bugs are likely to be vulnerable to them. Some of the Bug-type Pokémon are Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Shedinja, Genesect, etc.
• Grass: This might be because birds eat plants, which makes Grass Pokémon weak against them. This type includes Sceptile, Kartana, Zarude, Celebi, and others.

Hence, flying-type can easily win the battle against these Pokémon with their powerful moves and flying advantage. 

Flying Type Weaknesses 

These winged Pokémon are also weak against some specific moves such as Gravity, Ingrain, Roost, SmackDown, or Thousand Arrows. They may lose the battle against four types of Pokémon, including:

• Rock: These Pokémon can freeze the wings of flying Pokémon, which makes it almost impossible for them to fly. Some best examples are Tyranitar, Aerodactyl, Gigalith, Regirock, etc.
• Electric: Electricity is highly resistant to air and more likely to hit a flying object, which puts flying-type Pokémon at higher risk against these Pokémon. They include Zekrom, Regieleki, Iron Hands, Miraidon, Zapdos, and others. 
• Ice: Ice-type attacks increase the weight of flying-type and affect their balance game which ends with hurting them more. Some of these Pokémon are Kyurem, Regice, Baxcalibur, Glalie, etc.
• Steel: They are resistant to flying Pokémon, making them strong enough to repel or absorb the opponent’s attacks. They include Aegislash, Heatran, Empoleon, Excadrill, and many more.

Some Pokémon belong to half-flying types, meaning they’ll have doubled strengths and weaknesses or will just get canceled out, causing only normal damage to the Pokémon.
